I bought this 1957 Telecaster in 1965 when I was 18 years old (I am now 58). The Tele was originally Blonde, then Metallic Blue, then Psychedelic day-glow paint (Well, It was the late 60's after all), and now Natural finish.

At one time I had this worn ’53 or earlier black pickguard on the guitar, but decided to change to a NEW white three ply Pickguard because I refinished the guitar (I know, BIG MISTAKE). 

I took the black Pickguard and put it in a box, where it has been for over 38 years.

I still have this Telecaster (FOR SALE at the right price)
